Step-by-Step Process Flow:
- Main Mixing Blender (MBB) and Simultaneous Mixing Blender (SMB):
- MBB and SMB are the core units where the initial blending of base oils and additives takes place. The choice between these blenders depends on the complexity and number of formulations or grades being produced.
- The MBB handles larger batches and is used for creating homogeneous blends, while the SMB allows for simultaneous mixing of multiple ingredients for more complex formulations.
- Drum Decanting Unit (DDU):
- The DDU is used to transfer oils from large storage drums into the mixing units. This step ensures that the exact amount of raw materials is used for each formulation.
- Additives Mixing:
- Additives are introduced to enhance the properties of the lubricant, such as improving viscosity, reducing friction, or providing resistance to oxidation. This step is critical for customizing the lubricant’s performance characteristics.
- Quality Control Testing:
- Before the blending process is complete, the mixture undergoes rigorous quality control testing. This ensures that each batch meets the specific requirements and standards set by Dana Lubricants.
- Filling Process:
- The finished lubricant is then packaged into various sizes depending on customer requirements:
- Big Packs: 20 liters and 25 liters.
- Small Packs: Ranging from 0.5 liters, 1 liter, 2 liters, 4 liters, and 5 liters.
- Drums: Larger quantities are filled into 50-liter and 200-liter drums.
- The finished lubricant is then packaged into various sizes depending on customer requirements:
- Final Inspection and Distribution:
- After packaging, the final products undergo a last round of inspection to ensure there are no defects in packaging and labelling. Once cleared, the lubricants are ready for distribution to customers.
