Bright Stock BS 150 Base oil
It helps make lubricating oils with the right thickness. Mix it with oils that are thinner to adjust the thickness level. They also blend it with thicker oils, like gear oil, marine diesel engine oil, and cylinder oil.
The name ‘Bright Stock’ comes from the method used to make bright-colored oils. In this method, producers mix naphtha with dark Cylinder Stock. After winterizing to remove wax, they distill the mix to get rid of the naphtha, leaving behind the bright oil.
Applications
Bright Stock BS 150 base oil is used in many types of lubricants. Mixing it with thinner oils helps to get the right thickness. You can find it in thicker lubricants like gear oils, engine oils, transmission fluids, hydraulic oils, transformer oils, greases, and metalworking fluids.
To make this oil, a Group I, first process crude oil in a vacuum distillation. Then, they refine it using solvents, remove wax, and treat it with hydrogen to get rid of impurities.
