N 100 Base Oil Group II

N 100 Base Oil Group II

Group II are hydro-cracked base oils. They are produced by undergoing hydro-processing which increases the level of saturates and purge out impurities.Having fair to good performance in lubricating properties such as volatility, oxidative stability and flash/fire points. They are defined as having a viscosity index between 80 and 120  a level of sulphur lower than 0.03% and are less polar with values less than 10 pS/m very low conductivity

Applications

  1. Transformer oil, ink oil
  2. Marine oil
  3. Industrial gear oil
  4. Automatic transmission fluid
  5. White oil process oil
  6. Gear oil, Axle oil

Advantages

  • Better oxidation control and Improved NOACK stability
  • Enhance viscosity control and Better base number retention
  • Reduces wear on engine components

A Refined Solution for High-Performance Lubricants

N 100 Base Oil Group II is one of the most commonly used base oils in the production of high-quality lubricants. It is produced through a refining process called hydrocracking, which improves its chemical structure, making it more stable and efficient than lower-quality oils.

Refining Process

The production of Group II base oils begins with crude oil. The oil undergoes a hydrocracking process, where it is subjected to high pressure and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. This process breaks down the long hydrocarbon chains found in crude oil, reducing the levels of impurities such as sulfur, nitrogen, and aromatics. The result is a base oil with a higher degree of purity and more consistent performance across a wide range of operating conditions.

Characteristics

Group II base oils have several key characteristics that make them suitable for a variety of applications:

  • High Purity: The hydrocracking process reduces impurities, making Group II oils cleaner and more stable.
  • Low Volatility: Group II oils have lower volatility, meaning they evaporate less at high temperatures, improving the longevity of lubricants.
  • Improved Oxidation Stability: Group II oils resist oxidation better than Group I oils, preventing the formation of sludge and deposits in engines and machinery.
  • Good Low-Temperature Performance: While not as low as Group III oils, Group II oils still perform well at lower temperatures, making them suitable for various climates and conditions.
  • Enhanced Viscosity Index: Group II oils typically have a higher viscosity index, meaning they maintain their thickness and lubricating properties across a wider range of temperatures.
