DANA Brake Fluid Oil

Brake fluid is a type of hydraulic fluid used in hydraulic brake and hydraulic clutch applications in vehicles. It is responsible for transferring force into pressure, and to amplify braking force. Simply stated, when you apply your foot to the brake pedal, brake fluid transfers this force into pressure to the front and rear brakes and stops the vehicle. It works because liquids are incompressible.

That means when pressure from the brake pedal is applied at one end of the brake system, the fluid in a vehicle’s brake line is forced to move through that system. This force is transferred to a vacuum powered brake boost, then all the way to the brake pads that ultimately press against a vehicle’s wheels and bring it to a halt.

DANA Brake Fluid brake fluid formulated to meet the requirements of typical Indian traffic conditions. Its ENHANCED EQUILIBRIUM REFLUX BOILING POINT (ERBP) guarantees excellent braking efficiency in time. Every time.

CONSUMER BENEFITS

  • Excellent compatibility with rubber seals to minimize leakage.

  • Excellent resistance to oxidation leading to longer life of brake fluid.

  • Superior anti- corrosion properties preventing corrosion of metal surfaces in the braking system.

  • Recommended for all hydraulic brake and clutch systems in 2/3 wheelers, passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, agricultural tractors, etc.

Applications

Brake fluid is used in automobiles, motorcycles, light trucks, and some bicycles. It’s important to maintain the brake fluid level and replace it at regular intervals. Some signs that your brake fluid needs to be changed include: ABS light, Pedal problems, Strange noises, and Strange smells. It is used in hydraulic brake and hydraulic clutch applications in automobiles, motorcycles, light trucks, and some bicycles. It is used to transfer force into pressure, and to amplify braking force. It works because liquids are not appreciably compressible.

Brake Fluids Oil Types-

Glycol-Based Brake Fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5)

These fluids absorb water, preventing corrosion in the brake system and decreasing the fluid’s boiling point over time. It’s crucial to replace these fluids periodically to maintain their performance and prevent issues due to water absorption.

  • DOT 3

    • This is a standard brake fluid, suitable for most everyday vehicles.

    • DOT 3 is hydroscopic, which means it absorbs water and it requires replacing it at regular intervals every few years to maintain effectiveness.and has a lower boiling point.

    • This brake fluid is mainly glycol-based. This type of brake fluid has the lowest boiling point of all four.

      • Dry boiling point: 205 °Ct

      • Wet boiling Point: 140 °C

    • This braking fluid is satisfactory for general use but has a reduced boiling threshold. It is to be noted that in the case of excessive heat generation in your vehicle’s braking system, for instance, while driving through hilly terrain or carrying heavy cargo, the brake fluid has the potential to reach its boiling point. In such an event, the braking system may exhibit suboptimal performance.

      DOT 4

This is also a glycol-based with borate ester fluid and has a higher boiling point than DOT3. Most cars produced after 2006 use DOT 4 brake fluid.

      • Dry boiling point: 230 °C

      • Wet boiling Point: 155 °C

      • An improved version of DOT 3, with a higher boiling point and additional additives for better performance in higher temperatures and more extreme conditions. You’ll often find this in sports cars or vehicles that are designed for tougher driving conditions.

Silicone-Based Brake Fluid

 DOT 5

DOT 5 is a silicone-based fluid and it is immiscible with water, and other brake fluids. It must not be mixed     with other types of brake fluid. Systems can change fluid only after a complete system flush. It has an       advantage over other types of brake fluid in that silicone has a more stable viscosity index over a wider temperature range. It should be mentioned that DOT5 brake fluid does not damage paint. It has a significantly higher boiling point and it does not absorb water like other types of brake fluid.

  • Dry boiling point: 260 °C

  • Wet boiling Point: 180 °C

    • Further improvement on DOT 4, offering an even higher boiling point for vehicles subjected to higher thermal stress, such as sports cars and heavy-duty vehicles.

    • DOT 5 brake fluid is an improvement over DOT 4, offering an even higher boiling point for vehicles that are subjected to higher thermal stress, such as sports cars and heavy-duty vehicles. DOT 5 brake fluid is primarily used in vehicles with ABS brake systems.
